Welcome back to another week where we highlight the Top 10 Stories Of The Week From The Kicks On Fire Instagram. This feature focuses on the top/most read stories of the week as chosen by you, our readers/supporters. The way it works is we post a picture about current sneaker news or an upcoming release on our Instagram account and many times we advise you to “click the link in our bio.” The main goal for that is so we can direct you to a certain piece of news on the site that we feel is important or breaking. It’s a quick way for us to connect you to the site in the click (or touch) of a button.
Last week was all about the release of the adidas Yeezy Boost 750, and unless you were one of the lucky few, you probably took an L trying to cop. This week brought us news and releases from a variety of brands which is always a good thing. Jordan Brand will be releasing a handful of Air Jordan 10s from their City Pack this weekend but once again it doesn’t seem like people are too excited about them much like last week’s Air Jordan 9 Low and Air Jordan 2 Low. Nike Basketball made some noise this week as we’ll see a new Kobe 11 release and we prepare to say hello to the KD 9. Adidas also made headlines this week as they showed us the next installment from their Crazylight Boost series and they also unveiled a new runner. As for the most talked about sneaker this week? You’re in for a surprise.
Only Sneakerheads Overseas Will Get The Air Jordan 10 London
Just when we thought that we would be able to easily pick up the Air Jordan 10 London, Nike pulls the rug from under us and announces that it’ll be releasing exclusively overseas. It’s not that those of us stateside won’t be able to pick up a pair, it’s just that it’ll take a little more effort if you really want it. Will anybody still be trying to get their hands on a pair tomorrow?
Gum Bottoms On The Nike Sock Dart = A Thing Of Beauty!
Is it just me or do gum bottoms look nice on pretty much any sneaker? Nike released a new Nike Sock Dart this week that featured a navy upper with a white midsole and gum outsole. The result? The beautiful shoe that you see above. The only downside for many guys is that it’s a women’s colorway. Hey Nike, when will you be giving us guys Nike Sock Darts with gum bottoms?
Ronnie Fieg Collaborates With Colette and PUMA
Ronnie Fieg released his latest collaboration this week as he linked up with Colette and Puma to release a Blaze of Glory and Disc Blaze that featured heavy amounts of Colette’s iconic blue hue. As is always the case with Ronnie Fieg collaborations, both pairs featured premium materials and a clean design. Did you cop either pair?

Adidas finally took the time this week to give us an official look at the next chapter from their Crazylight series, the Crazylight Boost 2016. It is the first basketball shoe to incorporate 100 percent heel-to-toe BOOST cushioning and also comes with a lightweight woven upper. Scheduled to release on July 2nd for $120, will you pick up a pair to ball in this Summer?
Nike Says Goodbye To The Black Mamba With The Kobe 11 Sunset
It’s been two months since Kobe Bryant played in his final NBA game ever and we continue to see new colorways of the Nike Kobe 11. This pair dubbed the “Sunset” colorway is a great representation of Kobe walking away from the game for good as the upper is meant to look like the Los Angeles skies at dusk. Will you say goodbye to Kobe and pick up a pair tomorrow?
An Underrated Air Jordan 12 Releases This Weekend
Tomorrow we’ll see the release of yet another colorway of the Air Jordan 12. Releasing exclusively in GS sizes, this Air Jordan 12 comes with a Black nubuck upper and Hyper Violet accents. Why isn’t this pair getting as much attention as the white and pink pair that released earlier this year?
Kevin Duran Gets Ready For The Olympics With This Patriotic KD 9
The Nike KD 8 says goodbye this weekend and the KD 9 is ready to make its grand debut early next week. This week official images of the USA/Olympic colorway released which many people believe Kevin Durant will be wearing during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. Well that’s assuming he wants to be in the team. Are you excited about Flyknit being featured on the KD 9?
Ranking The Nintendo x Vans Collection
The Nintendo x Vans Collection released a couple of weeks ago and all of the 80’s and 90’s babies were rushing to their local Vans stores to pick up a pair (or three) from the massive collection. I personally picked up two different pairs (Era and Sk8-Hi) and am happy that I did. Growing up playing NES, Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64, getting something from this collection was a must. We took the time this week to rank a majority of the collection, so if you haven’t checked it out yet make sure you do so here. What was your favorite pair?
Adidas’ Newest Runner, The Alpha Bounce
First showcased by 2 Chainz during Game 5 of the NBA Finals, adidas unveiled a brand new runner this week known as the Alpha Bounce. The sleek low-top sneaker features a FORGEDMESH upper which has a seamless construction along with a BOUNCE midsole that offers superb comfort and cushioning. The adidas Alpha Bounce is already available for men and women in the debut Core Black colorway for a retail price of $100. More colorways are expected to release next week.
BAIT, Dreamworks and Diadora Create a Shoe For Shrek
After releasing a sneaker for Kung Fu Panda last month, BAIT, Dreamworks and Diadora will be dropping their next collaboration tomorrow using the Diadora N9000 silhouette. This time the shoe takes inspiration from Shrek and his wardrobe. Premium suede, tumbled apricot leather and Italian-made heathered canvas are all seen on the sneaker while the shoe also comes with special insoles and a special box. Releasing tomorrow for a retail price of $220, what are your thoughts on this three way collab? Bet you didn’t expect this sneaker to be at the #1 spot huh?
