The Patrick Ewing name is synonymous with two things;
Basketball and Sneakers but how much do y’all really know about the legend?
Let’s dig a little deeper and school you guys on the legendary Patrick Aloysius
Ewing.

Patrick Ewing’s early life as an immigrant from Jamaica was
difficult. He rose above by dedicating himself to basketball, gaining entry in
1981 into Georgetown University, where he quickly became the MVP. He went
on to play for the New York Knicks, Seattle SuperSonics and Orlando Magic.

It is at the New York Knicks where Patrick became known for
his animalistic defense and unstoppable charge to the net. In his first
season with the Knicks he was riddled with injuries but Ewing still averaged 20
points, nine rebounds and two blocks per game. His performance earned Ewing the
NBA Rookie of the Year title in 1986, and credibility as one of the premier
centers in the league.

See the below video of Ewing’s Top 10 career moments:

He went to have an extremely successful career at the New
York Knicks for more than 15 years, playing against opponents such as Michael
Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon and Scottie Pippin. He was named an NBA All-Star 11
times, made it to the All-NBA First Team and Second Team, and was a member of
the original “Dream Team” at the 1992 Olympic Games.

He went on to win two Olympic gold medals in basketball in
1984 and 1992, and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.

Since retiring from the NBA as a player in 2000, Ewing has
held assistant coaching jobs in Washington, Orlando, Houston and Charlotte, the
latter of which is where he’s currently an assistant coach.

So, just in case you thought Ewing’s were made by some
random guy who was just extremely talented when it came to drawing sneakers,
nope, the sneaks are art work from the mind of a basketball legend and hero.
