What’s more classic than a pair of Chuck Taylors? Not much. Maybe some Stan Smiths? Superstars? Air Force 1s. The list is short, but the Chuck Taylor is definitely one of the most iconic and popular sneakers of all-time.
Converse decided to give the classic silhouette a drastic change for the Spring/Summer season by outfitting the upper with a new shroud. As you can see in the images above this Chuck Taylor features the same classic build as before, but the upper has now been covered in a canvas shroud material that opens and closes with the help of a zipper that runs down the middle of the shoe. By the ankle you can see the traditional patch but without the Chuck Taylor branding. When you unzip the shroud upper you see a white canvas revealed with white laces that looks like the original Chuck Taylor.
If you’re interested in the new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Shroud then you can head over to select Converse retailers now and purchase your pair for $100.
The shroud upper gives a completely new look the the Chuck Taylor. Personally I prefer the original. The shroud kind of makes it look a like a knock-off.
