Last week, Hirofumi Kojima of atmos teased on Instagram a blacked-out pair of its upcoming Nike Air Max2 Light collaboration. Official details of the sneakers have finally arrived alongside special capsule apparel.

Like its lighter-toned counterpart, the Air Max2 Light is covered with sporadic collage-like motifs, emblazoned with things like bright neon embroideries and upside-down logos. The uppers are comprised of contrasting fabrications – patchwork cut-outs are put together in asymmetrical panels held together by tonal stitching. Standout details include the rubber lace cage and heel patch, pink stitching around the main Swoosh and fuchsia-tinted Air unit bubbles at the sides and back. The sneaker comes as a commemorative piece that celebrates the silhouette’s 25th-anniversary, incorporating brightly hued palettes reminiscent of the ’90s.

Joining the sneakers is a range of apparel executed in color schemes to match the footwear. Leading the selection is the black and white track jacket, accented with bright pink stitching and embroidered logos. “Air Max” is placed at the left sleeves, complemented by a pink inner collar. The matching black track pants feature zippers at the hem and a small Nike logo below the left knee. Other pieces like the graphic T-shirts and a set of water repellant sprays come to round out the concise assemblage.

The atmos x Nike Air Max2 Light will be available on atmos-tokyo.com on June 15 as well as select global atmos locations (excluding New York) for approximately $160 USD.

Elsewhere in Japan, Vans has tapped WHIMSY for a set of bold duo-toned Authentics.
