Originally debuted in 1984, the sneaker was more recognized as a fashionable pair for stylish trendsetters on the mid-80s corners of NYC and other cities the following year. Flaunting a sleek, luxe appeal, this variation of the low-top is essentially a nod to the model’s original outlaw roots.
Black leather, gold jewelry and exotic reptile skins inspire the sneaker’s build, as premium black garment leather uppers with croc-embossed white leather on the tongues and heel tabs, in addition to a gum outsole finishes off the composition. Final touches include faux gold accents on the lace tip aglets and nameplate-inspired branded lace dubraes.
Retailing for $110, you can purchase a pair at select Reebok stockists this Friday, May 13th, while a Packer-exclusive black/gold New Era NY Yankees fitted featuring a tonal 1985 graphic on the side will be offered for as well for $40.
I’m a fan of the simple design and the theme for this pair is pretty solid. The execution was nicely done and this pair should bring back a lot of memories.
