The collection draws inspiration from the midnight sky’s shadowy colors and uses silver accents throughout each pair’s design to emulate stars. The first two pairs feature contrasting suede and leather panels on the upper with perforated underlays for a multi-textured finish, adding further levels of depth to the design.
ASICS’ GEL-KAYANO 5 360 gets its full-length GEL sole unit treated to a deep blue hue and is contrasted by a white midsole. Tonal embroidery, complementing laces and a contrasting light grey outsole round out the shoe’s look. ASICS adds a similar look to the GEL-LYTE V, but implements lightly stamped branding on its mid-panel and heel for further contrast.
The GEL-NIMBUS 21 is the most technical out of the three as it is formed with a no-sew engineered mesh upper covered in the “Midnight Blue” colorway. The athletic model is equipped with FLYTEOAM Propel technology, which provides a more responsive sole unit upon each stride, while metal eyelets and silver detailing on the rear-quarter heel cup and tongue provide a nod to the stars.
All three “Midnight Blue” pairs will be available at ASICS stores, online and at select retailers on October 11.
In related news, ASICS has enlisted Chemist Creations to rework its GEL-KAYANO 5 OG.
