Celebrated British artist Reuben Dangoor was recently enlisted by adidas Football to create designs for on and off pitch footwear. The special pack consists of the Predator Mutator 20+ Art FG boot as well as the Predator 20.1 Art Trainer and Predator 20+ Art Trainer models.
The performance-oriented boot features a striking, colorful graphic to “spread a positive message of unity” and “to represent the unifying power of sport,” as per a statement. The casual variants, on the other hand, feature minimal designs by Dangoor complete with laceless uppers that ride cushioned midsoles for extra comfort.
Dangoor is known for his whimsical illustrations and realist paintings that shed light on British culture and current affairs. He got his big break when his portraits of Stormzy, Skepta, Dizzee Rascal and D Double E. Reuben were unveiled in Tate Britain’s “Legends of the Scene” exhibit in 2015. In 2018, his portrait of Jeremy Corbyn dabbing was displayed in The Design Museum Art of Politics exhibition.
Purchase all models from the pack by visiting adidas’ website. Prices range between $160 USD and $300 USD.
Elsewhere in footwear, check out Parley and adidas’ new 4D silhouette.
